- Extra firm Tofu - 200g
- Onion - 1, medium sized
- Tomato - 2, medium sized
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tsp
- Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
- Oil - 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Salt - To taste
Method
- Squeeze out the excess water from the tofu using a kitchen towel. Place a heavy object on it for a few minutes to remove remaining moisture. This step is important for better texture and taste.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add cumin seeds and sauté for a few seconds.
- Add finely chopped onions and cook until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell disappears.
- Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, cumin powder, and salt. Sauté for a few seconds.
- Add tomatoes and cook until soft and mashed.
- Crumble (scramble) the tofu and add it to the pan. Mix well, adjust salt if needed, and cook for a few minutes.
- Serve hot with chapati.
